By using pay-calculator.au you accept these terms. They are short because the site is simple: free calculators and guides, general information only, no advice, no accounts, no payment. The two clauses that matter most are the first two below.
General information, not advice
Everything on this site, every calculator result, table, guide and figure, is general information about how Australian pay and tax work. None of it is personal tax advice, financial advice or legal advice, and none of it takes your individual circumstances into account. No one involved in producing the site is a registered tax agent, and the site holds no financial services licence. If you need advice on your own position, use a registered tax agent or licensed adviser. The about page and Marcus Kelleher, our editor, describe who produces the content and the limits of that.
Your decisions are your own
The calculators produce estimates from published rates. They do not know your deductions, offsets, family situation, health cover or employment contract, and withholding figures are payday estimates rather than final tax. You should not make financial decisions, accept or resign from a job, or lodge anything with the ATO on the basis of a figure from this site without checking it against the official sources or a professional. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site and its operator accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on the information or calculators here. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Accuracy is best-effort against published rates
The site aims to implement the published 2026-27 ATO rates and Fair Work standards exactly, and the methodology page describes how figures are sourced, computed and dated. That is a serious effort, but it is not a guarantee. Rates change, publications lag, and errors are possible; when a figure the ATO has not yet published is carried forward from a prior year, the page says so. Errors are corrected on-page with dated notes under the editorial policy, and you can report one through the contact page. Where this site and an official document disagree, the official document is correct.
No affiliation with government
Pay Calculator Australia is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman, ASIC or any part of the Australian Government. Links to those bodies are provided because they are the primary sources; their content is theirs.
Acceptable use and content
The site is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may link to any page. The written content and the site’s code are protected by copyright; the underlying tax rates and rules are public information and belong to no one. Do not misrepresent material from this site as official government information, and do not present its estimates as advice to others.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute arising from use of the site is subject to the jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, this page will say what changed and when, with a dated note, in the same way corrections are handled across the site. Continued use of the site after a change means acceptance of the updated terms. Questions about these terms can go to the email address on the contact page.
